HOW FOREVER LIVING PRODUCTS CAN HELP YOUR PETS

About Forever Living Products

Founded in 1978, Forever Living Products (FLP) led the way in the rediscovery of the health benefits of aloe vera. The company now trades in 160 countries, with sales of $2.5bn. FLP is the largest grower, processor, and distributor of aloe vera products. The company controls the processes of growth, manufacture, and distribution so as to ensure the highest quality of product. Each product has a 30 day money back guarantee.  It was also the first company to be awarded the International Aloe Science Council’s Seal of Approval.

Neither the products nor their ingredients have been tested on animals and many products can be used on animals. Aloe vera contains 200 active compounds, and 75 nutrients. It has been used as an aid to health for centuries.

The products are not listed medicines, neither for humans nor animals and it is not promoted as such. They are meant to be used in conjunction with medication, not instead of it. The topical products are specifically used for skin ailments and are recommended for reducing the sensitivity of their skin and the oral products are generally used but is not limited to improve digestion.

Dr David Urch, a UK vet, has written a book about the use of aloe vera in veterinary practise. It is called Aloe Vera, Nature’s Gift. He explains in detail the properties of aloe vera and how it can be used on animals. He includes many before and after photographs. An interesting historical note is that when he started researching the use of aloe vera on animals he realised that the plant is depicted at the top of the veterinary crest in the hand of the cenotaph. Aloe vera’s outstanding health properties have been known for a long time!

The Benefits of using Aloe Products on your Pet

Skin Problems:  Aloe Vera is an excellent preparation to use for skin conditions such as allergies, abscesses, fungal infections, pyoderma, and many types of dermatitis. The oral gel can be given in the food, and the topical varieties applied directly to the skin. Aloe Vera will decrease inflammation as well as helping to remove dead cells and discharges. It will encourage a suitable environment for regeneration of cells so aiding the healing of wounds.

Wounds and Burns:   These respond particularly well to Aloe Vera. For a wound or burn to heal effectively it must be kept clean and moist with a supply of nutrients. It will also require air and may need protecting. Take care when removing dressings not to damage new cells. Aloe Vera can aid the natural healing processes and help secure the above objectives.

Digestive System:   Aloe Vera can prove very beneficial in helping conditions of the digestive system, particularly where inflammation is involved. Conditions such as stomatitis, gingivitis, and oral ulceration can all be helped with aloe Vera.

The most useful preparations for use in the mouth are those that are spray based and the gelly. More serious conditions such as vomiting and diarrhoea also often respond to oral administration of Aloe Vera Gel combined with bland diets. Remember that all products must be used in conjunction with medication or veterinary advice and not instead of.

Immune System:     A number of animal diseases have their origin in the immune system. The most common are asthma, hay fever, rhinitis, arthritis, and lupus. The oral administration of Aloe Vera can be useful in chronic immunological problems.

Ear and Eye Problems:   One of the most common ear conditions is otitis externa where infection and inflammation develop in the vertical and horizontal ear canals. These are often mixed infections of mites, bacteria, fungi, and yeasts and may also involve foreign bodies such as grass seeds. Aloe Vera gel, Gelly and in combination with Bee Propolis can be very useful in treating this condition. Always ensure that a vet sees the ear so that causes such as foreign objects and tumours can be dealt with if present.

Eye conditions are potentially more serious and should always be examined by a vet. A dilute solution of Aloe Vera can be helpful for conjunctivitis and keratitis.

How Forever Living Products can Help your Pets?

A number of the commercially processed dog and cat foods on the market today have preservatives and fillers including sugar, salt and sodium complex. This is the pet equivalent of a “junk food” diet.

Did you know that some Aloe Vera Products can be safely used on your pets or other animals?

The regular ingestion of Aloe Vera, along with good nutrition, adequate exercise and caring owners can make a remarkable difference in the health and well being of a pet. Aloe Vera is known for its anti-inflammatory, healing and immune enhancing properties and has been effective in the alleviation of the debilitating symptoms of arthritis, hip-dysplasia, chronic vomiting, gas, dull coat, lethargy, as well as being an overall conditioner.

If your pet is receiving prescribed medicine we recommend that you discuss using the products below with your Vet as we do not advocate the use of these products as a substitute for conventional treatment or therapy. Complementary medicinal herbs should be used to compliment conventional veterinary medicine, not as a replacement without the Vet’s advice.

Here with a list of all the products available to you and your pets for use of the above ailments:

Aloe Vera, often called Plant of Life, Miracle Plant, Natural Healer, goes by many names which have survived the 4000 or so years during which this amazing medicinal plant has benefited both mankind and the animal kingdom.

The Aloe family of plants include over 200 varieties. Only three or four have medicinal properties. Of these, it is the Aloe Vera Barbadensis (Miller) that has been of most use to man. Aloe Vera Barbadensis is a succulent, looking rather like a cactus but it is in fact a member of the lily family related to onions, garlic and asparagus.

The plant reaches maturity in four years when the content of its leaves, a mixture of inner gel and outer sap, can be harvested. Flourishing in warm, dry climates, both the Greeks and Egyptians valued it highly and it has been referred to as "The First Aid Plant" by physicians, for over 4,000 years.

In recent times researchers worldwide have found that the fleshy pulp inside the leaves contains essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids that can alleviate many chronic conditions.

ALOE VERA ENHANCES THE WELL-BEING OF HORSES

There are countless uses for Aloe Vera, and investigations by veterinary professionals have shown that Aloe Vera is effective in the treatment of a large range of skin problems, joint problems and internal disorders in equines.

Many trainers and riders now give Aloe Vera to their horses as a dietary supplement, significantly enhancing their stamina and performance, and reducing competitive stress and post-event fatigue.

A few years ago, international show jumper Liz Edgar fed Aloe Vera to her horses during a flu outbreak with good results. She now regularly feeds it to balance cell counts and uses the extract for minor injuries. People can also benefit. Aloe Vera Gel is taken as a drink by jockeys to improve energy levels and many event riders swear by it.

An Aloe Vera gel that contains glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM can help with mobility problems such as arthritis, or provide good nutrition to help manage or possibly avoid joint related issues.

WHAT ARE GERMS

There is a group of organisms that can make our body ill and are germs.

Germs are tiny organisms that cause disease. Germs are so small, microscopic , that are introduced into our system without us realize . In fact , we know that they have entered our body until we have symptoms that say we are attacking.

How many types of germs there ?

There are four major types of germs : bacteria , viruses, fungi and protozoa. Invade plants and animals and make us sick . Germs are parasites , that is, can not live on their own.

What is the "function" of germs ?

Once that invade our body , such as parasites, derive their energy from their guests. Ingested nutrients and energy and produce their own toxins or waste. These toxins can cause symptoms of common infections such as fever, chills , rash , cough , vomiting and diarrhea.

What to do to protect yourself from germs ?

Germs are spread through the air by sneezing , coughing or just breathing , or mix and match with body fluids such as sweat , saliva and blood ; so that :

Cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze and cover your mouth when you cough to avoid spreading .

Remember to wash your hands thoroughly is the best way to beat germs. Wash your hands every time you cough or sneeze , before and after preparing food or using the toilet , after handling money and after visiting a sick relative or friend .

Use a tissue when sneezing or sniffles . Toss them in the trash andwash your hands again ! .

What are bacteria ?

Bacteria are tiny single-celled creatures that get nutrients from their environment. Sometimes , that environment is the human body . Bacteria can reproduce outside the body or inside when they cause infections. Some bacteria are good for our body as it helps us to maintain balance.

The " bad bacteria" cause us sore throats, ear infections, pneumonia and infected cavities . The "good bacteria " live in our intestines and help us use the nutrients from the food we eat and discard what is not useful . Often bacteria are also used to produce medicines and vaccines that are genetically programmed ( genetic biology) .

What are viruses?

Viruses depend on a host to survive , grow and reproduce. The virus can not live outside other living cells . Once inside the body , the virus can spread and make a person sick. The virus can cause chickenpox, measles, flu and many other diseases.

What are fungi ?

Fungi are organisms similar to multicellular plants . Unlike other plants, fungi are unable to produce their own food from the land, water and air. So feed on plants, food and animals. Fungi thrive in warm, moist environments. Most fungi are not dangerous. An example of something caused by fungi is athlete's foot , that rash that makes adolescents and adults sometimes itching between the toes .

What are protozoa ?

Protozoa are single-celled organisms like bacteria . A protozoa also love moisture and often spread diseases through contaminated water. Some protozoa cause intestinal infections including tapeworms and roundworms .
